Why an auction?

This is St. Joseph School 20th annual auction and one of the major fundraisers of the school year. Last year’s successful auction made a profit of $47,588. The money raised helps the Home-School Association meet its yearly fundraising goal of over $100,000.

Where is St. Joseph School’s auction being held?

Our auction will be held this year at St. Paul Catholic High School.

What kind of items can be donated?

Items must be new and unopened. Past year's events we have received sports memorabilia, event tickets, gift certifications (mani/pedi, massage, facial, massage, 9 or 18 holes of golf, etc.) electronics or items families can get for a discount. Some arrange these donations through their employer or from a family business. While others may chip in together to purchase a larger item.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. We accept Mastercard, Visa and AMEX for silent and live auction item purchases. Only Cash and checks are accepted at the bar or to purchase mystery envelopes and raffle tickets.

When do I pay for my item?

Check out for silent and live auctions will begin at 9:30 p.m. All items must be paid for and removed from St. Paul Catholic High School that evening. SJS will not be responsible for items left behind.

Can I find out what is being auctioned?

The catalog of auction items will be posted here once it is completed. Read the auction flyers that are sent home, they will announce donations that have come in and what the Pre-Kindergarten thru 8th grade class auction items will be.

What is the auction’s dress code?

Guests of our past auctions have dressed casually.

How do you bid at a silent auction?

Take note of the items that interest you in your auction catalog before the event or view the silent auction tables at the event. The auction committee provides a bid sheet for each item with a notation of its starting value. Write the amount you would like to bid and your paddle number on the bid sheet. Go back periodically to see whether you’ve been outbid. Write a new amount if you’re willing to increase the bid and your paddle number on the bid sheet again. Wait for the closing of the sale to be announced by the master of ceremonies. Check back when the bid sheets are returned to the silent tables - the winning bidder will be highlighted.

Can I help?

YES! It truly takes the support of our entire school and community for this auction to be a big success! As you know every family must earn 50 activity points each year. Many families earn more than half of their points by volunteering time to the auction.
