BAND PARENT HELP NEEDED
January 4, 2013
Dear Band Parents,
In an effort to provide tighter security and safety for our band members, we will be putting in place new procedures for early morning band arrival. The outside door will remain locked. We will have a band parent volunteer to monitor the door and allow student entry at 7:00 a.m. on band days. We will also have, when possible, a second parent to monitor the upstairs hallway while Mrs. Brown is in the classroom with the band set up and rehearsal.
If you can volunteer 30 minutes to help out on Thursday mornings on an alternating schedule with other band parents, please fill out and return the form below. Parent monitor/helpers should plan to arrive at 6:50 a.m. on band day to free up Mrs. Brown to set up the classroom prior to the 7:10 start. Parent monitors will be dismissed at 7:20 a.m.
When you drop off your child for band next Thursday, we will have a sign up schedule (calendar) available at the door for parent monitors to take turns, two adults per week.
Please sign up for a Thursday morning if you can help out. Any help is greatly appreciated.
All band members are reminded to arrive at 7:00 a.m. in order to allow time to set up and be seated and ready to start playing promptly at 7:10 a.m.
Congratulations to all band musicians on an excellent Christmas Concert!
If you did not yet receive your All-State audition time from Future Musicians, you may call the office (860) 342-4485 and speak to Mrs. Hernandez. Gala band letters for students on lesson 17 and beyond will be available from Mrs. Brown next week.
Best wishes to everyone for a healthy and peaceful new year!
Mrs. Brown
