St Joseph School – 15th Annual Auction

“Take me out to the ball game”

Saturday, November 17th 2007

The Annual auction at St Joseph School is the largest fund raising program for the Home and School Association. This year, the auction committee is charged with raising $45,000 for St Joseph School. The funds raised directly impact our children at St Joseph School, affording them the opportunity to experience a state of the art Science Lab, up-to-date technological computer lab, a resource packed library, enriched art classes and so much more. With the help of all St Joseph School Families we can achieve this year’s goal!

The Auction typically begins at 5:00 pm in Guild Hall with beverages and silent table review. Dinner is served at 7:00pm with the Live Auction portion of our evening beginning promptly at 8:30 pm.

15th Annual Auction – WISH ITEMS

Here are some items we would like to offer at the auction. For more expensive items, some families get together and split the cost. Last year, for example, several school families pooled their funds to buy a trip for (6) to the American Girl Place in New York City. If you see something you would like to sponsor, please email the auction committee This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and complete the SJS pledge sheet by October 26th.

If you do not see any suggestions here that interest you, feel free to supply your own. Just email the auction committee This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with a completed SJS Pledge sheet.

Still cannot decide just what to donate? The auction committee would be grateful for a monetary donation, which would be pooled with other donations. Funds not designated for a specific item will be used to purchase “filler items” that are needed to create packages, baskets, etc….

Here are just a few WISH ITEM Possibilities…………..

Q: What can I do to help?

A: The auction committee can use help in so many aspects of the Auction: advertising solicitation, donations, ticket sales, decorating, setup, meal, beverages, clean-up, etc.

Q: A friend of the family owns a business that would like to advertise. Can they? How do they get information?

A: Absolutely, they can advertise. The vendor advertisement sheets are available on this site. Please complete the form with applicable artwork for printing and submit to AUCTION COMMITTEE, via back-pack mail to: St Joseph School, 335 Center Street, Bristol, CT 06010

Q: What type of donations do families send in for the auction?

A: All types of donations are submitted… from Gift Certificates, toys and books to a week vacation in a family vacation home. The Auction Committee would like to have 100% participation from our families. We realize that a large item donation is not possible for many families and therefore ask that families get together for an item donation or a family may make a monetary donation toward a “WISH ITEM”.

Q: Why is there WISH ITEMS listed on the website?

A: The Auction Committee has put together a list of “WISH ITEMS” they feel would be interesting, different and or unique items for this years’ auction. They can be purchased together by a group of families, or a family that may like the idea, but not be able to fund the whole item, may make a “wish item” donation and be recognized in the auction booklet as doing so.
